Well, a first post has to come at some point, it may as well be now. My hope with this blog is to express some thoughts (and opinion) on the areas of the web where value is created and derived through the connections, relationships and linkages that only the web can drive. I’m sure, in no short order, I’ll go off that path but everyone has to have a focus and goal, so that will be mine as it ‘correlates’ to this blog.

There are a lot of blogs out in the b’sphere that are talking about technology and media news, recent events and so forth. My goal is to not be another as there are many places that are top notch sites for that already such as TechCrunch, PaidContent and GigaOM to name a few.

More specifically, Correlate’s focus will be geared towards the collaboration that the web enables and connections it drives. It will also speak to the Web 2.0 (and 4, 5, 6) paradigm of course as well as Enterprise 2.0 which is slowly finding itself. At the same time, it will focus on the value of information that the web fosters which is going to have growing importance with the evolution of the semantic web and the value of derived content, entity extraction and the relationships of such content. And while these will remain the areas of focus, my goal is to foster a conversation around it and evolve just as the web does.

So let’s see how it goes…fully realizing that this is going to have a readership of one for some time!
